Monday! What have you done with the weekend! Give it back!

Anyhow, we learned more about the ancient Inca, finding the areas of triangles, and humidity. (Also mercury poisoning. The class gets fascinated by all of the side bits of knowledge I let drop.)

Happy Science Fair Night! Today we took a math test, reviewed our Latin American countries, and did a neat virtual lab on wind turbines. There are many different options when building a turbine. We also got Billy to earn $50!

SCIENCE FAIR TOMORROW!

Wednesday, November 9, 2016

Ahhhhh Wednesday.  We took our math pretest today and had a bit of a review assignment. The students will do set 36 tomorrow so we can have the test on Friday. (They don't know that yet, though. Insider information for blog readers.)

We checked out Central America and the Caribbean. The students were fascinated by the fact that Costa Rica has no army! We are also doing a science test for Friday, open book, but no questions. Remind your student that it wants explanations, even for the questions where it didn't say it.

Happy last day of election ads for a while! I was reading about some of the elections before and after the Civil War. The people couldn't decide on a candidate, so they ended up with someone that wasn't even in the running to begin with and that no one was really crazy about. They were also very concerned with voter fraud and intimidation. The campaigns got very nasty with lots of personal attacks and reputations smearing. Some things never change I guess . . . .
