I think we are sometimes a bit harsh on meteorologists. It is pretty amazing that they can predict as much as they can considering the changing nature of weather and the atmosphere and all the variables involved. That said, the high for today is 37 and it is 45 right now. Kind of funny. Anyhow, we haven't hit our unit on weather yet. We are still dealing with earthquakes. Today we learned how to figure out where an earthquake took place using triangulation. I also learned that getting really excited about earthquakes when you have a headache is not the best idea. We also got a great example of some of the simple mistakes that we can make when we aren't focusing on the math task at hand. (except it was me this time instead of them, sshhhh) We did eventually get to figuring out the circumference of a circle using three different values for pi. We also tried something new for geography. The students had to answer some questions on the section, but also had to do extra research to fill in some gaps. It should be an interesting change of pace. (Good thing they have until Wednesday.)
Thanks for everyone who was able to show up to sing at WLA. We had almost 100% there! That is awesome.
