Happy Thursday. Half-day tomorrow with a pep rally, and a guest speaker even. We had another busy day today as well. We took a look at Psalm 31, simplified expressions with signed numbers and even worked on 3 paragraph expository essays. Top that off with drinking salt water and learning some new words and we had quite a day.

Ticket Count has been updated.

My apologies! It has been a very busy past 7 days! So much so that I ran out of time to blog two days in a row. The science test was today, we shall see how the class did, hopefully tomorrow. In math we talked about the area of a circle yesterday and today we looked at scary algebraic expressions. 3x + 4 -x + 3. We then combined like terms (2x + 7) but didn't have to solve. Today for English, we tried something a little different. The students looked at two pictures and chose one to write a creative paragraph about. It was interesting to see which students were intimidated by having to make up a story. I look forward to reading the results.

Happy Snowy Monday. Despite the pajamas, I think we all managed to stay awake today. Due to some major computer issues today that I had to deal with, 7th grade got Mrs. Rosenthal as a guest teacher for Psalms today. We then talked about the area of a circle. Remember to use radius squared, not diameter or radius times 2. We also talked about subject-verb agreement for unusual cases like collective nouns. We reviewed El Nino and La Nina and started Hatchet.
