MERRY CHRISTMAS! They did a great job at the service. Thanks for the food and the gifts! We are set for Christmas Eve, other than I could use some cups, plates and napkins.

In January, 7th grade will be organizing a collection for Solutions Center. Look for more information to come.

Happy Last school Tuesday of the year! We practiced practicing! We are working on remembering how the lines start and saying them with enthusiasm. We also worked on making graphs today. We will take our math test on THURSDAY. We also have been working hard on music theory and have some work with scales coming.

Please look over the words for recitation and singing so we get say/sing them with confidence! We also worked on unit multipliers to change from one unit to another such as feet to inches.

We did lots of practicing for the Christmas Service. I had the students work without copies today and I was impressed at how well some of them are doing already.

We also worked on  shared presentation again today for geography. We are taking a little peek at some of the lesser known European Countries. (8th grade was gone so we grabbed the Chromebooks!) In addition, we added and subtracted numbers that had different units. Like 12 hours and 27 min. plus 3 hours and 55 min.

Memory: keep working on the Christmas service. Especially the recitation at the end.

There were no new assignments today. Remember that English and Vocab are due tomorrow and math was due TODAY. A few people need to finish it yet.

Hello again! I was at a tech conference this morning. I learned a few interesting things about where technology seems to be heading! Meanwhile your students were trying to learn about fraction-decimal-percent equivalents. This is really review, but that is good because we are again having trouble with remembering that when we change a percent to a decimal, we can't just erase the percent sign. (83.5% is not the same as 83.5). They also are working on how to combine short choppy sentences into longer, better flowing sentences. For example, instead of writing "Mr. Rosenthal went to a conference. The conference was about technology. Mr. Rosenthal learned some new things". They should write,  "Mr. Rosenthal went to a conference on technology and learned some new things."

Happy Monday! Faculty meeting today so I will be brief. We did some educational stuff today.

OK, not that brief. We talked about wind erosion today. We focused in on the difference between deflation and abrasion. We also are looking at key signatures in music. In math we worked on powers of 10. It's really just more counting. (We do a lot of counting in 7th grade math.)

Happy Weekend! We had a great presentation today on Friends of China. We also talked about ratios, the NASA Orion spacecraft, and glaciers!

Don't forget we sing on December 14th in both services. If your child can't make it, you need to let Mrs. H. and I both know ahead of time. School policy states that any child that doesn't come to sing without giving advance notice, should get a detention.

Happy Tuesday! At least it warmed up some. You may live in WI if your teacher checks the temp and says, "It's 26 degrees. We'll go outside since it is warm out." We also worked with dividing by decimal numbers. We are having a bit of trouble figuring out which number goes inside the box and which one is outside. Also, remember not to forget about the decimal and any needed 0's in the answer. We also reviewed where to put, and, not, to, put, commas in certain kinds of sentences.

We also worked with division, Southern Europe, and finished our science test on the last section and are starting the new section as well.
