Happy Tuesday! We worked on decimal numbers. We took some time to watch part of the Holes movie as well.

Just a quick note that we are going to WLA for the play on MONDAY, not Tuesday as the note stated. Please make sure they are dressed appropriately.

Also, don't forget we sing on Sunday in both services.

Happy Monday! I don't think this will make it in time for email distribution, but that is because I am having such a good time meeting with all of you tonight. Thanks for coming in, I appreciate it! Today we watched the Luther movie. I think it helps open their eyes to what a processes that really was! I elaborated on some of the political factors going on as well as the religious ones. It fits in with Reformation, but also with the history or Europe (GEO CLASS!) We also looked at using common denominators to add and subtract fractions which was a good excuse to go over LCM (Least Common Multiple) again.

We also saw a performance by the Windy City Players this afternoon. It was a neat three actor play.

By the way remember that there is no school on Wednesday even though there is a lunch on the lunch menu. Also, remember that we sing in both services on Sunday. Meet in the gym at 7:30. Thanks!

Happy Friday! We took our math test today and wrote hymn 200. We did well on both, they were both handed back already! We also got report cards. Take some time to talk to your student about their work habits.

Welcome to Thursday! Check out our finished geo projects below! We spent a lot of time on those this past week, but being done meant we got to spend time on our rough drafts today. In addition to that, we also worked on coordinate planes in math, and continued talking about living a Christian life based on our study of 1 Peter.

Howdy partners. Thanks to everyone for picking out a parent teacher conference time. I look forward to meeting with you. Your student is welcome to come, but it is not required to come. We took a meet math test today and tried to finish up some more on our geo projects. I extended the deadline just a bit more to the end of class tomorrow. We seem to have had a really good push at the end and I look forward to seeing the final project. Keep plugging away at the rough draft as well.

Happy day one of quarter two! We had a work filled Monday. We spent time working on our geo project. I had hopped that the students would get some work done on the rough draft as well, but it seemed as if all out time was on the project. Since that is a group project and the rough draft isn't, that makes sense. I know I printed a lot of info and visuals for the students, so we seem to have made some good progress. We also had some extra art time so that the students could finish their art project and get that grade on last quarter.

In math, we looked at rounding to a certain place value or with fractions. We also then used our roundings to help us estimate an answer.  The biggest issue I am still seeing with math is simple computation errors. (I even made one today on the board! It's contagious!) Please encourage your students to take their time and check over their work.

Nice to see you again. Brain is a bit fried, so I 'll stick to the big news. Realizing that most of the class hasn't started the rough draft yet (and I haven't been pushing it as I could have) I moved the due date to Friday. We will have some work time for it Monday during school. We will also spend some time talking about things like the title page and bibliography.
