Today we had a lot of play practice and no new assignments.

Last call for book orders!

Tuesday, April 29, 2014

Well, well, well. So you are back again. Not too much to report. We worked on the play today in groups so we had some of the students out of the room most of the day. We worked on our projects and got those done (or so I am told). I did not see students taking advantage of the extra credit or working on AR. Remember that is due no later than Thursday 8:00 am. We got through a few more chapters of out literature novel and we also checked out invasive, poisonous toads in Australia, the Coral reef, and what it is like to try and work in Antarctica. We ended the day trying to talk about appositives, but it was hard to focus on that after our day of play rehearsal.

Happy rainy Thursday. I hope you stay dry! Today we looked at using one triangle to figure out the measurements of another triangle whose sides we don't know. We also started to dig into the book of Galatians. We spent quite a bit of time talking about radiometric dating and some of the problems that have been found with it. We also finished up our presentations from our research papers. We also are starting a new region of the world for geography.

Hi this is Jeremiah doing the blog today so this might have some errors. We played Rugby today in P.E. That when pretty well. It was with flags we did not actually tackle each other. For reading we are reading Red as in Russia and Measles and Love. It is a very good book. I don't know if any of of you read it.This week has been so far so good.

He is risen! He is risen indeed! Another of our fleeting weeks has begun. We finished up our last chapter on South East Asia. We also started a new chapter in Science. We will be looking at some of the information that evolutionists rely on and talking about some of the issues that we have with this. Our math test on Thursday didn't go as well as hoped, so in addition to providing the answers on the tests and making the question sheets available, we are doing form B of the test as a take home assignment. We also went through some of the most common errors that I am seeing.

There are no new assignments but please work on finishing late assignments including finishing your presentations that were due on Monday if you aren't done yet.

Happy Wednesday! Remember there is 3:30 church tomorrow. Friday there is school until 12:00 and there is church at 1:00. We are not having any lunch at school so please make appropriate arrangements for your child.

Tomorrow is our trip to the planetarium. We will leave after a devotion and plan to be back by 1:00 in time for our math test. All of the students agreed that this was a great idea. ;-) The question was raised if the students need to dress up for the trip. They are certainly welcome to, especially if they are attending 3:30 church. Otherwise, as long as they follow the school dress code (no extra holes or worn looking clothes) they should be fine.

I found a video of our lesson today at Lesson 95 feel free to watch it again if you need some help. The same teacher has videos on the next 5 lessons as well.

Welcome to the start of another week of school. We looked at two step equations today which is easier than it sounds since we have done both step before, just not together. We also talked about galaxies today. God created about a trillion stars for each of the possibly trillion galaxies. God is pretty amazing!

It's Thursday! We made it though another day. We got to hear a lot about Heaven as both Christ Light and our afternoon devotion talked about it. Knowing we have Heaven waiting for us helps us to deal with our troubles and problems today, even homework! (Yes we did get some today.)

Tuesday greetings to all of you. I hope you are having a good day. I came to school to find my computer dead and I had to work with the copier guys so my day has been a bit hectic! We did manage to talk about the sun today and the students did some reading on the history of south Asia. In math we took our test which took much longer than usual. I am hoping that comes from careful work and translates into right answers.

It is Monday. The sun is shining! I hope you had a good day. We had a tough time focussing today but we had a good time getting outside!

We talked about stars and constellations today. We also learned how we find out some of the information we know about starts. We also wrapped up the physical geography of East and South East Asia. Wednesday we will take a look at the history and culture of the region. Well, a very brief overview since that is a LOT of history to cover. We also worked through a pretest in order to prepare for the math test tomorrow. The students were given a copy of the pretest to work off of to make sure they know how to do each kind of problem.

Apparently yesterday making us think warmer weather was here was actually an April Fools joke. Oh well! I still love my WI! We spent a lot of time working together on some group things. We also worked on using two unit multipliers to convert things. Unfortunately, we were better on finding shortcuts than following directions, but there was some good thinking going on.
